Upon successful completion, a candidate for this programme shall be awarded Postgraduate Diploma Degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
Prospective candidates for the programme must possess any of the following academic qualifications in addition to possessing five level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subjects at not more than two sittings. The candidate must possess any of the following academic qualifications:
- Higher National Diploma in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and related disciplines with a minimum of Lower Credit grade from recognized Polytechnic.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related Science discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University.
- Sc. or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with Third class (Hons) degree from a recognized University.
Duration of the Programme
Full time: Minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters
Part time: Minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters
The minimum pass score is set at 50%, Continuous assessment (CA) constitutes not more than 40% of the course. Any student who fails shall repeat such a course. Any student whose CGPA falls below 2.50 at the end of two (2) consecutive semesters shall be required to withdraw from programme.
